Financial Report 2023
It's the end of our first full year running this Fediverse instance. As promised in our call for funding back in April, it's time to review our finances. There's not that much to share really since our setup is fairly simple. So here are the numbers:
In 2023 we received a total of 1,415.00€ in donations. 961.00€ of this have come from one-time donations, 454.00€ from monthly recurring ones.
Our expenses over the same time period, plus what we carried over from November and December of 2022, amounted to 567.84€, split as follows:

This leaves us with a surplus of 847.16€ and about 80% of our ongoing expenses covered by monthly recurring donations. That's a pretty good place to be in.
We will donate 300.00€ of this surplus to charity in early 2024 and save the rest for emergencies, e.g. in case we ever need a lawyer, so we don't have to cover that entirely out of our own personal pockets. We're currently looking into which charity we want to support and are open to suggestions from our members.
